CCL to handle JISC Collections'         subscription and helpdesk service

February 2008

Following a tender exercise undertaken at the end of 2007, JISC Collections, the body that negotiates national e-resources agreements on behalf of the UK academic community, has awarded its Subscriptions and Helpdesk contract to Content Complete Limited (CCL).

Since 2001 JISC, and more recently JISC Collections, has outsourced the back office subscriptions and helpdesk administration of the agreements it negotiates to an experienced third party. With several years experience of delivering subscription management and helpdesk services to other clients, in addition to its core competence as a negotiations and licensing company, CCL looks forward to working with JISC Collections and offering a high quality service to eligible institutions in the UK and overseas.

CCL will commence the new role in August 2008 and will be working closely with JISC Collections and Swets, the current provider of the service, to ensure a smooth transition across to the new service. Further communications with more specific details and dates will be provided in the coming months.

CCL helps NHS East of England libraries deliver online journals to users

January 2008

All NHS staff working in the East of England now have access to a significant number of key online journals as a result of collaboration between Content Complete and ECLaKSA, the NHS Eastern Counties Library and Knowledge Services Alliance.
Having identified the content they wanted to licence and secured the necessary funding, ECLaKSA librarians asked CCL to help them approach publishers, obtain pricing proposals and review the licences put forward. With tight deadlines and a budget to match, CCL’s task was to try and deliver the publishers’ proposals and licences to ECLaKSA librarians for them to be able to make final decisions. Additionally, CCL provided advice and support, based on their experience, to help resolve queries that cropped-up during the process.
Joan Lomas, who headed the ECLaKSA Project Group said: “We are delighted to be able to deliver these key online journals to our users in the East of England. It has proved to be a challenging project but also highly rewarding and we appreciate the help and support provided by Content Complete”.
