Albert Prior
held a number of senior positions with Swets & Zeitlinger the subscription
agent and information services company, over a period of 25 years.
These included Managing Director of Swets United Kingdom, Commercial
Director S&Z The Netherlands, Group Manager of Publisher Relations and
Managing Director of Extenza, which provided a range of services to
publishers. Prior to joining Swets & Zeitlinger he worked for B.H.
Blackwell and originally trained as a librarian.
Within the Joint Swets/MIMAS consortium
which acted as the Managing Agent for NESLI, Albert Prior was responsible
for all negotiations with publishers. He was a member of the NESLI
Management Board.

Albert Prior was a member of the Committee
of the UK Serials Group for many years acting as the Editor of Serials,
the UKSG journal and as Chair of the group, 1992-1994.
He has given many papers at library and
publishing conferences around the world. He is joint owner and
editor of the industry newsletter, Scholarly Communications Report.
